Yep!

Thanks!
This was the first contest last year that our Team Pork Ninjas entered. We had a van, and honda fit. we crammed 4 bbqs and all stuff. We didnt sleep more than 2 hrs. We had a ton of fun. I would suggest taking the Judging course if you have not done so. this will give some information on how/what the judges look for. We also did the ribs grilling (nebs) and the kids. 11 Turn-Ins in 2 days. crazy hard but we came in 2nd in Bacon.. The contest is one of the best runaround. Tons of People, great location. Most of all its fun. Meeting new BBQ crazies, with the “Sickness” is awesome.
I am interested in signing up for the competition. This would be the first one I ever entered. Can you send me some more details on what is required?
We would love to have ya! There are four competitions available, Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS) Barbecue contest, which is four categories: chicken, ribs, pork shoulder, brisket. There is also a New England Barbecue Society Grilling contest also with four categories: (Still tentative) Chicken breast, meatballs, white hots, bacon. These two are typically two day overnight more involved events. There is the Roc City Rib Cook Off which is just a single category single day rib cook off. The last contest is a Kids Q single category cheeseburger. There is a package deal for all four contests or you can choose them individually.
A very valuable resource for information on what it takes to compete in these contest is the BBQ Brethren forum here: http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/index.php check out the competition forum.
