    Both BBQ and Food Trucks!

  2. Jess says:

Will there be BBQ on Friday or only food trucks?

  3. admin says:

You can come in Thursday afternoon if you wish, can’t guarantee water and power until Friday morning.

  4. Dave M. says:

Site says load in Thursday… packet says load in Friday. Which one?

  5. admin says:

The kids can cook any type of beef steak. For the KCBS contest you can cook any part of the chicken, thighs are the most popular. Check out the KCBS rules for details: http://www.kcbs.us/pdf/2014_rules.pdf

  6. Phillip Church says:

I am looking to find out what kind of steak needs to be cooked for the kidsQ and I also need to know what chicken is being cooked for KCBS.

  7. admin says:

They are up on the WBC page and in the cooks packet.

  8. Bonnie D says:

When will the other 2 bacon categories be announced? Our team wants to start preparing.
    Thanks, Bonnie

  9. admin says:

NEBS board is reviewing the categories… Pending approval (which should happen) they will be…. drum roll… BLT and Beef Burger! Thanks!

  17. mark says:

This will be my first time coming-just moved to town. Will the booths be giving out samples or do you have to buy what you want to try?

  18. admin says:

That is like choosing which of our children we like the best ;-)

    Can’t miss on any day…

  19. admin says:

Thank you so much for the kind words!!!

  20. Kathy Harmon says:

This will be the 4th year our family has attended the Rib Fest! We turn down family BBQ’s and picnics to make sure we’re home for this. It is by far THE BEST bbq we’ve ever had! We love that the vendors sell their sauces & rubs.
Thank you for being a part of the Rochester tradition!!!!

  21. Julie says:

My nursing and friends and I are planning to attend but can only come by for one day due to staffing – what is the best day to attend RibFest?

  22. admin says:

Just come on down, you can pay at the door.

  23. Michelle says:

Where do you purchase tickets for this event?

  24. admin says:

    The Hampton rocks!

    Thanks for choosing Roc City!

  25. admin says:

$5 for adults, kids under 12 are free. The vendors will be setting their own prices…

  26. Janelle says:

I have never attended this event before – What are ticket prices? And does each vendor have their own price for their ribs or is there a standard price?

    Thank you!

  27. Jay Cohen says:

Just booked two rooms at the Hampton, Janel was great and so was the price. I’m judging and bring my partner, who will be attending the judging class.
Looking forward to it, as I was up a few years ago for the 1st comp.

  28. Cherri says:

Hi, We are planning to attend your event this year for our first time. We would like to camp close by. Can you recommend any nice campgrounds that are near by ?
    Thank you

  29. admin says:

Don’t need to bring anything, and you can’t miss the tent it is right in the front of the event. The Hampton has a block reserved but you still need to make you own reservation :-)

  30. Ross says:

I’ve also signed up for the judging class, and have never before judged a competition. I’m coming from out of state too. I see the class starts at 6pm, and is in the judge’s tent. Is there a guide or faq I can find? I was surprised to read above there’s a block at the Hampton reserved. I’m looking for the basic info: when to arrive, is the judge’s tent easy to find and just walk in? Bring an apron or anything other than a smile and be eager to learn? That kind of thing. Planning to come hungry and have a terrific time! Thanks in advance for your time and help

  31. Sally says:

We do Temporary Henna tattoo using natural henna, glitters and rhinestones. Freehand and custom designs.
Can we get the application form to be a vendor at the festival.

    Thank you
    Sue and Sally

  32. admin says:

No body else seems to have a problem, sorry! Are your browsers updated? You can send a personal check as long as we have time for it to clear before the class.

    Thanks for choosing Roc City!

  33. Dave Wharry says:

I was trying to sign up for a Judges Class. Fire Fox does not show the cart, IE does, however I could not pay via Paypal. Your ecommerce system is badly busted. FYI. I guess I have to go to the bank and get a US money order, and mail it to you. There appears to be no other option.

  34. admin says:

I would venture to guess that all of them are gluten free, check with the vendors to be sure.

  35. Valerie Lindenmuth says:

We’d like to visit the ribfest this weekend in Rochester, NY, however, I need to know whether or not anyone that will be serving gluten free ribs. Can you please let me know? Thanks!

  36. admin says:

Due to the raising cost of pork the buck a bone is cancelled.

  37. Stephanie Gallant says:

Question:: Is there still a $1/bone event on Monday?

  38. admin says:

    Directions: http://roccityribfest.com/location-2/directions/

    Lodging: http://roccityribfest.com/location-2/accommodations/

Not sure if the block is sold out yet, call and ask for Nancy or Jessica they can help you out.

  39. DeWayne Williams says:

I have signed up as a judge with my donation and have a couple of questions. Where is the competition located and how do I get the Hampton Inn deal for a room? I am really looking forward to the competition. I have never been a judge in a ribs competition before but have been to MANY competitions in Missouri. Bass Pro Shops in Springfield, MO every year for many years. Just moved to New York a couple of months ago and am needing directions. Thanks. DeWayne Williams

  40. admin says:

    Thanks for the kind words!!!

  41. Dick Johnson says:

Our team has competed all over the state (NY) this by far is the BEST
competition, best run, best location, nicest people of them all. I took judging class last year (Big guy with gray hair in picture) , best thing i have done. If you are undecided whether to participate… DO IT
    you won’t regret it….
