Q: What is the entrance fee?
A: 12 and over is $5, children under 12 are free.
Q: What is included in the $5 entrance fee?
A: The entrance fee covers your parking, admission, music and kids activities. $1 from each entry goes directly to Golisano Children’s Hospital at Strong.
Q: How much does it cost to park?
A: Parking is FREE! There are large parking lots directly in front of the Park and an overflow lot across Lake Ave.

Q: Is there a charge for kids to use the bounce house?
A: Nope! All kids activities are FREE. Fri – Mon See event schedule for hours
Q: Are pets allowed in the Event?
A: It is Monroe County’s policy to not allow pets in Ontario Beach Park, so unfortunately we cannot allow them.
Q: How do I vote for my favorite ribs?
A: During the entire event when you enter you will be given a card to vote for your favorite. When you leave or have just found your favorite you can vote at our information booth. Every vote can earn you a chance to win a smoker!!
Q: Can I eat BBQ from the competitors?
A: Monroe County Health Department prohibits our KCBS, NEBS and Roc City Rib Cook Off teams from giving or selling food to the public. We will have over 10, local and national, health department certified food vendors on site for you to purchase food from. Q: Can I buy a weekend pass?
A: Yes, weekend passes will be available at the door for $10.
Q: Can I volunteer?
A: Yes we love to have the community come out and help run the show. See our Volunteer page for details and submission form.
Q: Is food and / or drink allowed into the festival?
A: No food is allowed, and only one bottle of water per person. ABSOLUTELY no alcoholic beverages!!!
Q: How do I enter a contest?
A:There are four great competitions to fit every skill level, background and budget! Cook just ribs or grill up a storm or dive right in to a professional KCBS BBQ competition, heck get the Kids involved! Why not try all four? Package deals available. See the individual competition pages under the competition tab on the menu above. Simply add the contests you wish to compete in to your cart and follow the check out instructions.
Q: Can I judge?
A: Yes, we are looking for Certified judges, candidates that want to take the KCBS certified judging class and the general public for the Roc City Rib Cook Off. See our judging page for details: Judging
I would like to compete in the KCBS events this year. I see the Festival lasts until Monday however, are the teams competing in KCBS on Sunday able to leave Sunday after the awards Ceremony or do they have to leave Monday?
Yes, the teams are allowed to leave after the awards on Sunday and or they can wait and leave Monday morning.

Could you tell me what provisions there are for water and electric at each BBQ team site? How much extension cord/hose will I need to bring? Thanks.
You will need at most 100 foot of hose and a Y splitter. For electric you will need maximum of 100 feet and a splitter.

First year entering meatballs. If I am mixing ground meat do I have to do it there, or can I premake my meatballs before hand? Not sure how the meat inspection works for this part of the competition.
Your meat mixture can be premixed, just not cooked in any way…
